The first AGM of our PSPP
The first AGM of our PSPP was being held at 29, Pitt Street, Penang at L. C. Lee Stamp Shop on the upper floor of the premises. The date was 5 Feb 1983 and the meeting started at 4.30 pm. Our society had done well all these years. Did u know that our Society was born in May 1982 but we could only function in late August when we were issued a temporary permit by the Registrar of Societies pending full registration. Our PSPP was fully registered in early October 1982. Did u know that our very first PSPP Auction No.1 was held on 7 November 1982 (Sun) n 263 lots were put up for sale with only 83 lots being sold n 180 lots unsold, perhaps due to inflation affecting our stamp collectors those days. The sale of our very first auction was being held on the 5th floor of the A.C.S Union Building (Singapore Hotel Rooftop ) located at Penang Road, a few doors away before the Capitol Cinema those days. Dr Ooi Hock Soon was our very first President of Persatuan Setem Pulau Pinang.
